9/12/2004 - Left to right:
Yogi, Buddy, and Fats. Yogi is about 10 years old, and appears to be a
Pug-Pekingese-(and perhaps Dachsund, although I don't see it at all) mix. Buddy and Fats are Shih Tzus, 4 and 3 years
old respectively. Today was the first time Buddy and Fats met Yogi, at
the home of his foster mother, Bonnie C. |
Buddy and Fats had just been to the groomer two days ago, and got a "late summer hair cut"... give 'em a few weeks and they get that rag doll Shih Tzu look. Meanwhile, they will just have to run around naked! Yogi only has one eye, but gets around fine.... and the fellows enjoy each other, as Buddy finds something interesting to sniff! |

Yogi and Buddy. Here you can see Yogi's "good side"..... and Buddy's "good side" too! Buddy and Fats are being neutered tomorrow, and hopefully Yogi will come home to live the them in a few days. |

Hey
fellas! Do a think if we all look cute at the same time, we might get a biscuit? |

Yogi: It's Christmas, and as long as I get a treat, I don't care what I look like! Buddy: I'm not wearing that. Not even for a biscuit. For a carrot, yes.... I'll wear a dress for a carrot.... |

Meet Shorty! He is about 9 years old, and looks to be a Husky-Collie mix, maybe a little German Shepherd thrown in as well. Shorty was found wandering on the ramp near the Airport Circle last Thanksgiving. A nice person got hold of him and took him to the West Jersey Animal Shelter in Pennsauken NJ. The good people there took care of Shorty..(they called him Sherman) and found that he was a very sweet and gentle soul. He was so gentle that he slept in the office, and not in the kennel with the other dogs. Shorty was good with all the people, children, and other dogs who came to the office.... he was even good with cats.... Shorty likes cats! Shorty was doing pretty good in the office. He gained weight, and was given medication so his joints wouldn't be sore... old fellow was a little stiff in the legs. He had a nice blanket to sleep on.... but he didn't have a home and family of his own. On December 30, 2004 Shorty joined the Funky Dogs. Little Fats made sure he knew that he was boss when it came to Phil and the couch.... Buddy and Yogi were happy to have another fellow to run with. All the dogs love the idea of having a nice soft blanket in the dining room to relax on! Shorty is a pretty big fellow, but very quiet.... I've yet to hear a sound from him. Just a quiet and gentle fellow. Of course Buddy does enough barking for four dogs anyway, any old one-eyed Yogi chimes in every time Buddy barks as a matter of principle!. New Years Day of 2005 is supposed to be a beautiful day with temperatures in the mid-50s or better, so the boys are going back to Cooper River tomorrow morning for a sniff and run party! |
