Patrick X. Flaherty

FIRST LIEUTENANT PATRICK X. FLAHERTY was a Roman Catholic priest. Originally from South Boston MA, he had been the assistant pastor at Christ the King Church in Haddonfoeld NJ, prior to entering the Army, to serve as a chaplain.

An excellent swimmer, Patrick X. Flaherty was killed in a diving accident at Camp Polk, in Vernon Parish LA, on July 19, 1943. He was 33 at the time of his death. His death was reported in the July 21, 1943 edition of the Camden Courier-Post.
