STAFF SERGEANT WALTER BAKER CROMWELL JR. was born July 7, 1935 to Mr. and Mrs. Walter B. Cromwell of Lawnside NJ. He graduated from Haddon Heights High School in 1953, and was a member of Masonic Lodge No. 5 of Lawnside NJ.

After serving with distinction in Vietnam, Sergeant Cromwell was posted to Butzbach, Germany in August of 1967. He died of a heart attack in Frankfurt Germany on March 31, 1968.

Sergeant Cromwell was survived by his wife Valeria, his son, Walter Baker Cromwell III, his parents, a brother and a sister. Sergeant Cromwell's father passed away shortly afterwards, in September of 1968.
