LIEUTENANT PERCIVAL NORMAN
FENTON JR. was born in Collingswood NJ about 1922 to P. Norman and
Martha P. Sharp Fenton. His father was in the insurance business. At the
time of the 1930 census, the elder Fenton was employed as an insurance
adjuster, and the family owned a home at 14 East palmer Avenue in
Collingswood. A member of the United States Naval Academy Class of 1946,
he received his wings at the Corpus Christi Naval Air Station in Corpus
Christi TX in 1949.
Lieutenant Percival Norman
Fenton Jr. was killed when the the patrol bomber he was co-piloting
crashed off of Key West FL on June 27, 1951. The entire crew of eight
were lost.
Lieutenant Fenton was
survived by his parents, wife Carolyn, and sons Steve and Percival
Norman 3rd. He was buried at Arlington National Cemetery on July 10,
1951.
