PRIVATE EDWARD R. GROSSMAN
JR. was born on February 14, 1908 to Edward R. and Christine Grossman.
He was the third child, with two older sisters. In 1920 the family owned
a home at 306th Fourth Avenue in Haddon Heights NJ.
Edward Grossman Jr. had gone into the Army in August
of 1943, and was sent overseas in January of the following year. Wounded
in action after arriving in Europe, he spent one month in hospital
before returning to combat. He was killed in action on May 23,
1944 in Italy. After the war his body was returned to the United States
and he was buried at Locustwood Cemetery in what is now Cherry Hill NJ.
He was survived by his wife, Mrs. Jane Grossman, of 105 West High
Street, Haddon Heights NJ. |
